It's officially summer!!! YAYY! With that, I have been working as much as I can, getting some sun (which is very little with all of this rain!), and hanging out with friends! Unfortunately, where I work (Ulta) has very few hours for payroll, so I haven't exactly been working nonstop. Hopefully, with business picking up from my return, we'll get more hours. 0:) As a result, I have been sitting around at home, trying to find PRODUCTIVE things to do with my time..........which hasn't been easy!
Since I'm a college student, I'm in need of money so I'm trying to think of ways to earn some without having to balance two jobs at once. What I've been doing is selling ALL of my textbooks/novels on Amazon.com so I can get the best price back for them. Also, I went the other day to Plato's Closet to trade in some of my gently used clothes, which was in reality 5 HUGE garbage bags full, but they only took 2 pieces of clothing!! I was appalled! I had some really nice clothes in those bags, and they only took 2! So I pocketed the cash and hauled my five garbage bags out of there. My mom heard of a consignment shop near my house so I think I'm going to try there as well. I intend to post fliers in my church and the local library for babysitting as well, so if you know anyone who needs a babysitter, let me know!
What I'm really excited about is the fact that I just opened up my own Etsy shop! If you've never been on Etsy, it's a site where people can sell handmade goods, vintage stuff, etc. It's a great little site and I was debating for the longest time whether or not I should open a shop, and I finally decided to! I really enjoy making rosaries and jewelry, so I figured this is a perfect way to earn some money for what I enjoy doing. I only have a couple of items on there, but keep an eye out for more! My shop is called Lily Among Thorns, from the scripture, "As a lily among thorns, so is my beloved among women" Song of Songs 2:2. My boyfriend, Chris, sent it to me in one of his letters and it really stuck so I ran with it :) I've posted the link to my shop at the bottom so please stop in and feel free to spread the word!
