Good Hair Day

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

Vest: Marshall's | Tee: Target | Necklace: LOFT | Jeans: LOFT | Purse: Nine West | Shoes: Converse | Lipstick: Laura Geller in "Lexington Ave. Coral"

Do you ever have a really good hair day and just have to photograph it? Well, I don't. To be quite honest, the only time I feel my hair is photograph-worthy is when I get it done. Which leads to the title of this post and the impetus for taking these pictures. Aside from the fact I love this outfit.

I don't know what it is, but I just can't seem to get into doing my hair regularly. Hence why you'll see it up in a bun or straightened on here. Because for me, that's easy. I feel like I worry enough about what I'm wearing and doing my eyeliner just right, and I really don't want to add my hair into that mixture. For this appointment though, I asked my stylist to walk me through doing my hair like this, and guess what? It doesn't seem as difficult or worrisome as I imagined. So you just might see more of this 'do on TPC. Hopefully. If I can figure out how to work my curling iron.

Wishful Thinking

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

I know my presence on here for the past month has been slim, but unfortunately between frigid temps and constant snowfall, documenting my outfits has been impossible.  While I'm still dressing to impress, snow boots and salt stains have been my most worn accessory these past few weeks.  In total, we have almost two feet of snow, and I am sick of it!

If you live in or anywhere near the northern portion of the U.S., I'm sure you agree with me.  Thankfully, today was the first day we've seen the sun in the past couple of months and it warmed up a bit.  Naturally, I jumped on this opportunity to sneak in an outfit before winter catches back up with us again!  I wore some pops of spring colors in this outfit, wishing desperately for the end of dreary days.  Hopefully my wishful thinking will pay off!

Tribal

Friday, November 22, 2013

So I've come to the realization that I will be forever apologizing for not writing more often.  To be quite honest, I've hardly had the time to sleep and feed myself properly, let alone write a full post and take pictures.  This year got. real.  I absolutely love what I'm doing, but the constant stress and work is exhausting.  Since I've come to the realization of perpetual apologizing, I'm going to give you one last, big apology and that will (I hope) cover the (many) times in the future as well.

Sorry Readers!

Ok then!  On to this outfit!  If we can all look past the very wrinkled shirt, (remember- barely eating and sleeping) I think this outfit is going to repeat several times in the upcoming cold months.  I got this sweater from Ross not too long ago and paired with a long sleeve shirt, it makes for an extremely toasty combination.  I've seen tribal print everywhere and I have to say, I'm a bit obsessed with how versatile it is.  It looks great with a lot of pieces in my closet and can be mixed with patterns too!  Score!

p.s. Have you seen the Naked 3 palette yet?! Isn't it gorgeous?! I may or may not have to splurge and get it for myself for Christmas...;)
p.p.s. Help me get to 100 followers on Bloglovin'!! Hop on over and follow The Petite Chronicles to get updated posts in your feed! :)

Fall

Monday, October 14, 2013

I think it's safe to say, Fall has arrived.  Goodbye shorts and flip flops, hello sweaters and boots!  Gotta love the gorgeous amber and flame-colored trees, and the crisp nights that make me want to watch a football game in the open air.  Apple cider is my warm drink of choice and I love hearing the soft crunch of the leaves under my feet.  But most importantly, you know what else Fall means?
Pumpkin.
Everything.

I think that's all that needs to be said on that matter.

Awesome 80s

Sunday, September 15, 2013

It was the first full week of school this week and I have to say I'm exhausted.  But the good kind of exhausted.  The kind where you feel accomplished and after a bit of sleep, ready to get back into the saddle.  It's only been three weeks, but I didn't think I could be this happy and exhausted at the same time (Well, aside from THON of course!).

But anywho, I should probably talk about this outfit.  I have a tendency nowadays to get carried away with talking about teaching.  I honestly can't help myself, I love it so much!  This outfit was the result of Casual Friday at school and I decided Chucks were happening after wearing dress shoes all week.

I feel as if I were to alter this outfit just a little bit, I could totally rock it in the 80s.  Maybe it's just me, but the jean jacket, pleated skirt, and Chuck Taylors all scream 80s awesomeness.  All I'd have to do is frizz up the hair a bit, add some volume to my skirt, and throw on legwarmers.

I'll let you in on a secret- I have a strange love of everything 80s.  The clothes, music, movies- all have a charm to them that makes them distinctly that decade.  Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to experience the 80s myself, but my mom has told me they were pretty rad.  Maybe aside from the hair.  :)

Easy Breezy

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

We're in a bit of a cool spell here (if you consider high 70s "cool") so I've been wearing more layers than usual for July. It feels more like early fall rather than middle-late summer, but I secretly love it. The cool weather makes me dream of football games, crunchy leaves, and the excitement of back to school (ok, I'm a nerd, so back to school is exciting for me).

I've been desperately wanting to wear this breezy maxi dress, but seeing as it's sleeveless, I had to 'alter' it a bit with my chambray top. I shop for pieces like this that you can change in subtle ways to give you more wear-ability. Can I also tell you how much I'm in love with this new bag?! It's the perfect size to fit my endless supply of lipstick and my planner when school rolls around. AKA a match made in heaven in my book.

Monday

Monday, July 1, 2013

Well, it's official.  Google Friend Connect, it's been real.  I'll miss your daily feed of my favorite blogs and the way you show me how many followers I have.  Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye too soon.  You were great while you lasted, but all good things must come to an end.

On a less serious note, I'm happy to say today is my first day off in a week.  As in, Iworkedsevendaysstraight week.  If you have worked/work in retail, you know what I'm talking about.  If you haven't, let's just say I was pretty close to having a bit of a hissy fit by the end of the week there.  And those aren't pretty my friends.  I even stomp my feet and everything.
Who would've ever thought I'd look forward to a Monday?  Aside from saying goodbye to GFC, this Monday is looking pretty awesome from my perspective.

BFF

Monday, June 17, 2013

Remember when you were little and you had that one person that was your BFF? You made friendship bracelets, had sleepovers, were constantly together? That's what this new Gap dress and I are going to be. BFFs. Maybe even BFFLs (Best Friends For Life). I've only worn it once, but I can see a long and beautiful relationship in our future.

The Petite Chronicles got a bit of a makeover! It was time for a new and better look, I hope you like it!
