Tradition

I'm the type of person who loves traditions. I thrive on them. I think it's partly due to the fact that I'm a habitual person, and I think traditions give you something to look forward to. These pictures are from my 23rd birthday a couple of days ago. Something that I've turned into a tradition is to wear a pretty dress on my birthday, because I think it's important to have at least one day out of the year where you look and feel stupendous. 

This dress definitely qualifies for that. I got a ton of compliments on it, and I even found upon further inspection: pockets! You can't get much better than that, ladies and gents. Another tradition on my birthday that I love is my mom and I will grab some coffees and get pedicures. We always enjoy being pampered and catching up on gossip. It's just another way to feel stupendous when you're getting older. 

(Yes, I know 23 isn't that old, but it's much less exciting than previous birthdays!)

Edgy

This is possibly one of the edgiest outfits I've worn. I'm sure you can tell by now that I tend to lean toward the more girlie, frilly outfits. Who would have thought then, that I'd get leather pants for fall? Not I, my friends, not I. 
I think I might be channeling my inner 80s self with this outfit, since I was so unfortunate as to miss that decade altogether. Next thing you know I'll be perming my hair and singing along to Bon Jovi. Oh wait, I already do the latter.

Unhappening

There was a lot of "unhappening" going on today. For starters, I'm getting a cold, which is not supposed to happen in the summer! I thought colds only occur during winter! Well, it looks like I was wrong. Also "unhappening" today was my blazer in 90 degree weather. Yes, I sweat a little for the sake of fashion. Nothing air conditioning and extra shots of perfume can't fix.
Getting back into the swing of working has been a leeetle difficult since I had the whole week off. This 40 hour week should prepare me for the 50-60 hour weeks that are in my near future. Ah I can't wait to go back to school! 
Oh, and I probably made up the word "unhappening." I make up words all of the time. We'll see when the OED adds it to their website.
